Tuchfabrik Gebr. Pfau Crimmitschau

Short facts

From the fiber to the finished cloth - unique in Europe!

The history of the Pfau Bros. cloth factory began in the 19th century. The buildings that you can visit today were built in 1899. Fabrics were produced in the factory halls, which have been preserved almost in their original state, until 1990. You can explore the factory's spinning mill building on your own. There you will find, for example, the spinning room with its large self-actors and the museum's current special exhibition. You can visit the other factory buildings as part of a guided tour. Our tour guides will explain the individual production steps, from the delivery of the fibers, spinning and weaving to the dispatch of the finished fabrics. The demonstration of machines is a special experience and gives you an impression of the work processes in a historic textile factory.
